It was another boring day for Achak's pack. They all have been tracking down a herd of deer all day, but this herd was so skittish, they would run from every little noise they heard. Achak and many others were watching the same herd nearby and were plotting out an ambush. Kiona rolled her eyes at Achak's leading skills. If she were the leader, they would have gotten a loping deer by now. But Achak refused to let her lead in any way, shape, or form and that was how it was. The only way to lead a pack was to either be the leader, the mate of the leader, or victor over the leader. Kiona knew that she couldn't take Achak on, for he was much larger than her, not that she'd want to. He may have been an annoying leader to her, but he was still a nice comrade.
Before any further plans were set in stone, a scouting pack member approached Achak from the east. He was a scrawny scout, but he was a very fast runner.
"Achak!" he exclaimed, panting.
Achak turned his head to face the young scout. "What is it?"
"I need to inform you that another wolf pack has entered our territory!" the scout said, sounding a bit vexed.
"I'm well-aware of that fact, Faolan," Achak snuffed. It was true; the unknown pack had been on Achak's territory for well over a day now. "But whose pack is it? I want them off my territory."
"The leader I'm not sure of, I'm afraid, sir," Faolan said, lowering his head to the ground in a bow. "I'm told their leader is a wolf named Kilaun and a wolf-dog mutt named Aleu, but how can that be?"
Kiona's ears shot up. Her sister was here? This fact was not only intimidating for her, but very enraging. Kiona hated her sister Aleu with a passion. Aleu had sexually abused her and Kiona was definitely in the mood for the ultimate revenge. Her fur bristled at the thought of seeing Aleu again. She made a break to run in her direction, but Achak stopped her. He noticed Kiona's sudden change in mood.
"Any one you're familiar with, Kiona?" he asked.
"Unfortunately..." Kiona stopped in her tracks. "Aleu is my sister's name. I need to find out if it's her."
"I see..." Achak pondered. "And if it's true? What will you do then? You can't just approach a pack's leader; their pack will get to you first."
Kiona stayed silent for a moment, and then looked into Achak's bright blue eyes. She knew that he wanted to send someone with her if not go on this mission with her himself, since he was this pack's leader after all. But she didn't want him knowing anything about her and Aleu. "This has nothing to do with you." She said before running away, following Faolan's scent to the other pack's location.
She traveled far once she found her sister's enraging scent. She was in a continuous running state, making her way through meadows, through rivers, and over rocks. Kiona eventually found herself in a snowy gorge. She sniffed around, trying to find Aleu's scent. When she picked it back up, she heard a noise from above. She looked up and before she knew what hit her, she was tackled to the ground. She rolled with this form through the gorge and threw herself over it, pinning it to the ground. It was a crème colored male wolf. Kiona was just about to rip his throat out, until she heard someone command them to stop.
Kiona looked back up the gorge and seen a familiar brown-grey hybrid approaching them. It was Aleu.
Aleu's face remained emotionless. "Who are you, red wolf?" she asked Kiona.
"Psh, you're stupider than ever, Aleu!" Kiona scoffed. "You can't even remember your own sister!"
Aleu looked at Kiona hard for a moment, and then started walking around her, eyeing her up and down. Kiona snarled at her, making the crème-colored wolf jump up in brace of an attack of his leader.
"Don't EVER look at me like that again, you bitch!" Kiona roared.
Aleu's eyes widened. "K...Kiona?"
"It FINALLY hits her!" Kiona announced, shoving her face into Aleu's, threatening. Aleu went to nuzzle her sister. It had been a long time since they've seen each other and Aleu missed her very badly.
Kiona was wary when Aleu bowed her head to nuzzle her, but when she realized what her sister was trying to do; it brought back horrible memories from that grieving, confusing night. Kiona jumped back and snarled.
"Touch me again...and I swear on our father's grave, I will kill you," she growled.
Aleu sighed. Her sister was being unreasonable, as usual. "Why are you here, Kiona," she demanded.
"Simple: To kick you and your whimpering pack out of my pack's territory!"
"YOUR pack?!"
"Yes," Kiona said, circling Aleu in an impending way. Aleu never kept her eyes off her. Kiona knew of this, and lunged at Aleu, fangs bared. Aleu yipped and ran far away. Her pack, confused as to what to do, just watched them run away.
Kiona chased Aleu for miles, never tiring. Thomas' extreme training was finally paying off. Aleu started to slow down and Kiona jumped into the air and tackled Aleu to the ground. They tumbled through the snow. Aleu landed on top, but wasn't sure if she should kill her sister or anything. She just lay on top of her. Aleu's abdomen brushed up against Kiona's and Kiona went mad. She kicked her sister off her with her hind legs and rolled onto her feet.
"This is more than just a service to my leader," Kiona growled. "I have a personal score to settle with you...but you know that already, don't you?" Kiona lunged for Aleu again, trying to exhaust her faster, and to make more time for the mental wounds. "You remember what you did to me that long time ago? I'm sure you do, since you keep insisting I remember." Kiona thought back to Aleu nuzzling her and it made her quake with utter disgust. "What you did to me sent me on the worst of journeys. I couldn't think properly because of your irresponsibility! You made me think terrible things!"
Kiona continued to try to physically attack Aleu, not really trying, but wanting Aleu to fight back and make the physical battle worthwhile. But Aleu wouldn't fight back. Kiona didn't know why, and she really didn't care, she just wanted her to put up some sort of struggle. She decided to let the both of them stop to take a breather. Kiona's eyes never left her sister's, nor did she let Aleu's eyes leave her own. Kiona gave her the cruelest of all expressions on her face.
"I should've killed you that night." Kiona stated, not showing any emotion in her voice. "But you put me on such a guilt trip; I couldn't make myself do it. I figured letting you live with the guilt would have been more than enough to let you die with. But...you didn't even think about it, did you? You just continued on with your life, without a care in the world. You didn't even think how I felt on the situation, all this time. You never even attempted to find me to apologize or anything."
Aleu sank back in her stance, reality finally setting in. She looked like she was about to break down and apologize, but she knew that it would have done no good. Kiona continued, "Unfeeling creatures like you deserve fates worse than death. But, I suppose death is all I can give you now!"
Kiona took Aleu out by her front left leg and brought her down on her back. She held her paw firmly on Aleu's chest. Aleu brought her head up and snapped onto Kiona's underarm. Kiona cried out, but then brought her fangs down on Aleu's hind leg and pulled. Bone cracked and Aleu let go of Kiona with a howl. Kiona pulled Aleu across the ground until she was lying completely straight. Aleu shot up to gain her footing, but her hind leg was twisted in a sickening position with blood dripping from the torn skin and fur.
Aleu took a blow to the head when Kiona rammed her with her own. She bounced off the ground once after she landed. Kiona swiftly towered herself over Aleu's fallen form, making sure she couldn't get up.
"Rest," Kiona said, digging her fangs tightly around Aleu's exposed neck. She didn't even bother to ask if she had any last words, Kiona didn't want to hear it. The only noise Aleu made was the sickening crunch in between her sister's jaws.
Aleu's body laid limp in Kiona's grip as blood sprayed over the disturbed snow. Kiona dropped her sister to the ground, letting out a sigh of relief. Kiona made her way back to her pack, not even thinking twice of the sin she committed.
